It is nice to see Joe Biden win because, if he hadn't, this country would have been FUCKED and the most surprised would have been those damn Boomers who voted for Orange Julius, not once, but twice.
Thanks to the media completely failing to properly explain that Trump's executive order "thereby" deferring the collection of payroll taxes was A REAL THING that had the very real potential of depleting Social Security by 2023.
Granted, no corporations of note took Trump up on his offer during this term, but something tells me they'd have felt more entitled during a second Trump term.
Had Trump won...Can you imagine Granny MAGA-Hat strolling out to her mailbox on the third Monday or Tuesday of the month and finding no Social Security check? I can and if you multiply this granny times every other Nana and Poo-Pa in this country and you will have an all-out Rascal Revolution.
It just sickens me to see so many people constantly fall for the diversion, thereby getting conned into voting against their own self-interests, while the rich fucks continue to pick the pockets of the little guy.
What only a few of my closest friends know, because I'm not exactly proud of it, is that I was close to quite a few people who found their way into Trump's orbit. Some are within two or three degrees of the man himself.
Some, amazingly enough, come from the music world, while others come from the campaign side, having helped engineer many a successful Tea Party campaign. I had tolerated such leanings because I tried my best to disconnect the person from their politics, but backing Trump was more than that.
To take part in such profiteering and corruption was a deal-breaker, no matter how much it made me uncomfortable to end a longtime friendship.
To my surprise, there was never that twinge of regret for my "zero tolerance" stance when it came to voicing my contempt for such opportunist traitors in my midst.
Turns out my contempt was more than justified and watching their downfall has been very entertaining. One got busted by the FBI just a couple weeks ago. I'm still laughing as each msg from other friends trickles in, saying "OK, now I get why you did what you did back before any of us were paying attention."
